Panama City Florida's Warren Bayou still hot for fly fishing.

I have had a lot of beginner fly fishermen this winter. Whether new to the sport or a seasoned fly caster there is plenty of action on the fly right now. John Blotto and a fellow chopper pilot from Rucker came down over the weekend to wet a line and get a little action. Both were salt water novices but managed to boat a lot of trout both on the fly and on convention including an ultra light four pound rig. We haven't seen many reds or jacks in Warren Bayou in the last month but the big schools of spawning sailcats are in and they are no disappointment on the fly or conventional tackle. They range anywhere from 5 to 8 pounds. Even though they slime your line they are a welcome pull for the fly guy. {%image_id=14224%} {%image_id=14225%} {%image_id=14226%} {%image_id=14227%}
